GivEnergy is a prominent British battery storage brand, offering an extensive range of versatile storage systems. Spirit Energy have completed a significant number of GivEnergy installations, including their popular 9.5 kWh battery and the highly regarded GivEnergy All-in-One. Unfortunately, following GivEnergy entering administration, we are no longer able to offer their products.
Victron energy is one of the most established battery manufacturers in the world. Founded over 50 years ago, Victron began by building energy systems for commercial shipping vessels. Victron have since ventured into the home battery market, offering one of the most advanced and customisable battery systems available.
This customer had a well-performing solar PV system installed under the Feed-in Tariff scheme, generating around 3,000 kWh per year and delivering reliable FIT income for over a decade. With the solar side of the setup working as intended, the next step was to push further towards grid independence by storing surplus generation rather than exporting it. The property had also been experiencing semi-regular power cuts, so whole-home backup was an added priority.
TL;DR From 24 March 2027, every new home in England must have solar PV under the Future Homes Standard in accordance with the final Approved Documents. It is a functional requirement of Building Regulations, not an optional upgrade.
