Erica founded Spirit Energy in 2009, excited about the benefits that renewable energy can bring in meeting our energy needs and in improving sustainability. During her masters at Oxford University, she investigated mathematical solutions to using fixed mirrors to maximise concentration of the sun on solar panels. Erica has previously worked on the trading floor of NatWest Markets and in Corporate Finance at Deloitte and Touche.
Ian Charles qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Medicine from Barts Medical College (1986). He has run businesses since the age of 25, ranging from a car spares business to Primrose, which he built into the UK's largest online garden retailer. He oversees the finance at Spirit Solar Ltd, alongside offering valuable input and ideas to our other departments. There's never a dull moment when Ian's in the office!
Vishal joined Spirit in Jan 2010. He holds a first class degree in Architectural Technology and Design. His extensive knowledge of building construction, technical design and computer aided design techniques has enabled him to understand and tackle every type of project. He has managed hundreds of installations, from domestic PV to large non-domestic PV, battery storage, LED lighting and EV chargers. He has excellent technical knowledge and a talent for finding his way around whatever problem we throw at him.
At Spirit, we don’t believe in pushy salesmen. We employ well-trained and knowledgeable technicians who know our products, are up to date with the regulations and can carry out technical calculations. Will prepared an awful lot of quotes and shading analysis before he was let loose and sent out to talk to potential customers about our systems and advise on the right system for their home or business.
Justin joined Spirit in 2010 and now heads up our installation team. A qualified electrician, he has installed and commissioned LED lighting systems, emergency lighting systems, electric vehicle chargers, battery systems and PV systems ranging from small domestic systems to large commercial systems.
Lydia joined Spirit in 2014 as an assistant project manager. The role quickly grew to cover all aspects of project management. She now manages residential installations and product purchasing.
Mark is our LED and residential PV and battery expert. He graduated in Geology before working in the charity sector and then joining Spirit in 2016, while continuing his passion as a yoga instructor. A solar enthusiast, Mark is having Spirit install in roof panels at his new house.
Henry heads up our technical and estimating department, with expert knowledge always on hand to answer our tricky questions. Having completed a masters in Renewable Energy, he is dedicated to sustainable living, a proud advocate for low carbon transport and plant-based food.
Harminder joined Spirit in 2019 and looks after our accounts and payroll. She’s always first on the case to chase an overdue invoice and keeps our finances in impeccable shape.
George graduated with a degree in Mathematics and has since worked in marketing, joining Spirit in May 2019. Passionate about green issues, he keeps our website and blog up to date with the latest developments in renewable technology.
Caius earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bristol University before joining Spirit in 2018 (with a small diversion to convert a van into an off-grid solar camper). Honing his expertise through creating numerous residential and commercial quotes, he has since become our in house EV charging specialist.
Stephanie transitioned to renewable energy from the building perspective, having earned a degree in Architecture. She is passionate about living sustainably and ethically, and seeks to empower property owners to do so.
David completed a distinguished academic run with masters degrees in Electronic Engineering and Renewable Energy. Working in our technical department, he specialises in residential solar. As a fitness enthusiast, he inspires our team by competing in international tennis matches and training for Ironman events.
Peace bagged a degree in Renewable Energy Engineering after completing various international internships in the solar industry. Apart from being passionate about sustainability and energy efficiency, she is a fashion enthusiasts who loves to spend her time away from work designing chic outfits that promote culture.
Megan graduated in 2020 with a degree in Mathematics and Meteorology. She is passionate about climate change and conservation, and in her spare time she runs half marathons for charity.
Graduating Chemistry in 2018, Najey moved between various jobs in a wide range of industries before settling in at Spirit. Outside of work, Najey is a keen crafter, hiker and forager.
