A Hire Purchase agreement is a way to fund a solar or battery system without paying the full cost upfront. A finance provider pays for the installation and owns the system during the repayment term. Spirit designs and installs the system, providing full end-to-end project management.
Once the system is operational, your organisation uses the electricity it generates immediately. You make fixed monthly or quarterly repayments to the finance provider over a set term, usually between five and seven years. These repayments cover the cost of the system, not the electricity produced. The electricity itself is free from the day the system is commissioned.
At the end of the repayment period, ownership transfers to your organisation for a nominal final payment. You then benefit from ongoing reduced electricity bills for the remainder of the system life, typically 15 to 20 years or more, with only routine maintenance to consider.
