Spirit Energy designs and installs Solar PV systems, Battery storage systems and Electric Chargers predominantly across the southern England and the Midlands for domestic and commercial clients. The company has carried out around 5000 solar and battery storage installations and is well respected in the industry for technical excellence, reliability and high standard of work. We are MCS, CHAS and NICEIC Approved Contractor accredited. We install for private individuals, councils, house-builders, contractors and commercial clients. System sizes range from 1 kW to 1000kW.

Solar Panel Roofer

Full Time, In-Field, £28,000 - £37,000 a year

Job description

We are seeking an experienced solar roofer to join our team on a permanent basis with ideally 1-2+ years experience. Sub-contractors may apply but our preference is directly employed long term.

We run our installation team from our head office and warehouse in Reading, RG30, this would be where you would travel to on daily basis unless it made sense to go directly to the site.

The successful applicant must have at least 12 months experience of installing solar panels on different types of roof ideally across domestic and commercial buildings. You should ideally have a Working at Heights qualification, asbestos awareness & CSCS. Additional training will be given with the intention of you becoming a roofing supervisor and gain SSSTS qualification.

As a guide you can expect to earn around £14-£18 per hour including bonuses for overtime and weekend work; the final rate will depend on experience.

You should be hard working, reliable and able to work in a team. The position also involves liaising with clients so it is also essential that you are presentable, polite and friendly.

Commercial Business Development Representative

Full Time, In-Office, £35,000 - £45,000

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Business Development Representative to take responsibility for driving new business and developing the commercial part of the business. You will work with our marketing team to find and onboard commercial client while identifying opportunities to expand relationships and win new work.

We are seeking someone with proven business development experience, ideally within B2B technical solutions, energy, construction, or a related sector. You’ll need to be commercially astute, confident with senior decision-makers, and able to balance relationship management with sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with key commercial accounts, acting as the primary client contact
  • Develop new business opportunities with commercial clients, from initial enquiry through to signed contract
  • Help to prepare and present proposals for solar PV and battery storage projects, supported by our in-house technical team
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to ensure proposals are technically robust and commercially viable
  • Monitor market trends and contribute to the company’s commercial growth strategy
  • Deliver against agreed sales targets and KPIs

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in account management and business development in a B2B environment
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify new opportunities and close deals
  • Confident engaging with business owners, senior managers, and other key stakeholders
  • Organised and proactive, able to manage multiple clients and opportunities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in the energy, renewables, or construction sector is advantageous but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence required

Pay and Progression

  • Basic salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per year
  • Commission: heavily performance based, with no cap
  • Top performers have potential to earn significantly more
